Summertime

Summertime is my least favorite time of year.
Temperatures rise and humidity invades us here.
I retreat to places with conditioned air
And dream of Autumn’s weather fair.

I partake of my own made iced teas
And hope for a cooling breeze.
Ice cream is my favorite summertime treat;
Others prefer watermelon to eat.
