About the Author

Hello, I’m Kelly Barr, and I have loved books ever since I learned to read about Dick and Jane, their dog, Spot, and their cat, Puff. In addition to my love of reading, my seventh grade English teacher pointed out my talent for writing and my dream of becoming a published author began. I’m a member of Lancaster Christian Writers (LCW).

Along the road to publishing my first novel, I did a lot of other writing: I wrote interview articles for the online magazine, Faith-Filled Family for a year and a half; I wrote online articles and blog posts for clients on Upwork for about 6 months; I was a featured writer in the “Historical” genre and the “Romance” genre on the Almost An Author blog for four years; I wrote many Book Reviews — some on my blog, some on Book Sirens, and finally, for Clean Fiction Magazine for two years and nine months; and I spent a year as a journalist for a local newspaper.

I am also an editor and have edited books for quite a few independently published authors.

In addition to my love of reading and writing, I love God. He has been faithful to me over the years. I have found that I cannot write a story that doesn’t include faith and love because those things are a part of who I am. I write Christian Romance stories, both Historical and Contemporary.

I also love my family and spending time in the outdoors, especially in the mountains of Pennsylvania. I am, also, a dog lover. My favorite breed of dog is the Labrador Retriever and I am partial to the black variety. I love taking walks with my dog and relaxing in the evenings with my dog by my side, a good book in my hands, and a cup of tea next to me. My favorite tea is chai, which I drink hot or cold, as a latte or frozen. I’ve even had chai milkshakes! Since visiting a tea plantation several years ago, I have become a tea connosieur of sorts and I enjoy many varieties of loose-leaf teas.

I hope you’ll find something you enjoy here on my website, and if you read one of my books, please feel free to let me know what you thought of it.
